Brave+True Dresses: 11 New Summer Styles In Store

If you have not come across Brave+True summer dresses before, Brave+True is an Australian brand designed for easy, feminine summer dressing. The cuts are flattering without being fussy. The fabrics feel lovely to wear. And the prints have that sun-soaked quality you tend to find in clothes designed somewhere the sun shows up most of the year. We are a proud stockist, and this is a collection I look forward to.

There are mornings when a new collection arrives and the whole boutique seems to brighten. That was this week, when the new Brave+True dresses landed and the rail filled up with print and colour.

There are eleven pieces in this season's edit, in sizes XS to L. Here is what to look out for.

Zoe's Garden, the signature print

This is the print I think you will fall for. Zoe's Garden is a soft, painterly floral in pink, green, cream and warm coral. It runs through four pieces in the collection.

Brave+True Alice Zoe's Garden short sleeve dress at Shirley Allum Boutique

There is the Alice dress for an easy throw-on day. The Gelato midi has a tiered skirt and adjustable straps, lovely for warm evenings. The Eliza skirt pairs beautifully with a plain tee. The Percy top works with denim or linen. You can mix the pieces together, or let one floral midi dress do all the talking.

I have always had a soft spot for gingham. It feels like a holiday. This season there are three gingham pieces to choose from.

Brave+True Portia black dress at Shirley Allum Boutique

The Musings dress is a tiered, easy shape that looks lovely with sandals. The Monty shirt can be tied at the waist, worn open as a layer, or buttoned and tucked. The Lucy skirt is full and twirly, with proper pockets. Each gingham dress and separate mixes happily with the rest of your summer wardrobe.

The standout Brave+True summer dresses

Every collection has its showstoppers, and Brave+True have given us four.

Brave+True Gelato poppy red midi dress at Shirley Allum Boutique

The Gelato in poppy red is the one I keep returning to. It is the same shape as the floral midi, in a solid sunshine red that looks wonderful with bare arms. The Portia is a black dress with lovely lines, the kind you will wear for years. The Squad in navy and white stripe is your easy everyday dress. The Chloe tee is a soft white piece you will thank me for in autumn.

Sizes and where to find them

The collection runs from XS to L, and sits at the easy, accessible end of the rail. The current price for each piece is on the collection page, and we have most of the edit in store now.

Do come and see them if you can. There is nothing quite like seeing a print in person, and the fits are best understood with one on. You can also browse all our dresses online, or take a look at our latest new arrivals for everything else that has just come in.
