Gabor Shoes

Fit is where Gabor pulls ahead of most footwear brands, and it has been that way since two brothers opened a shoe factory near Hamburg in 1949. At Shirley Allum in Shaftesbury that currently means suede trainers, slip-ons and leather and wool boots, most in narrow and wide fittings.

Width fittings run through the whole range. They cover suede trainers in mocha, mulberry and olive as well as leather boots in black and navy. A genuinely wide foot or a narrow heel both get a proper fit rather than a compromise.

The company traces back to 1919, when Pius Gabor opened a small shoe shop in Rosenheim. His sons Joachim and Bernhard rebuilt after the war, founding the modern Gabor Shoes in Barmstedt in 1949. The factory returned to Rosenheim in Bavaria in 1966, and the company is still based there.

Colours run from classic black and navy through to suede in mocha brown, mulberry red and olive green. These are shoes made for a full day on your feet.
