Nieves "Snow" Ruiz Ramos spent over a decade designing for the high street before founding Bibico in 2007 to do things differently: two collections a year, made in small runs, rather than chasing fast fashion's weekly turnover. We stock Bibico at Shirley Allum in Shaftesbury, across knitwear, dresses and everyday separates in natural fabric.
Organic cotton, wool and lyocell make up most of the range, chosen for how they wear as much as any environmental claim on the label.
Bibico works directly with the same women's cooperatives in India and Nepal it started with, ensuring fair wages and safe conditions rather than outsourcing to whoever is cheapest that season.
A Bibico piece is built to be worn for years, which is rather the point of only producing two collections a year instead of fifty-two.
