Leo & Ugo is three generations deep into a family business that began in 1978, when Leo Amsallem opened a small Parisian tailoring house under the name Léo Guy. We stock Leo & Ugo at Shirley Allum in Shaftesbury, across knitwear, dresses and separates in cashmere and viscose.
Knitwear is still the heart of it, cashmere and viscose sweaters, cardigans and twinsets that turned into a full ready-to-wear collection after an early-2000s knitwear range took off.
It remains a family business passed down through three generations, and production has moved closer to home in recent years to keep the brand's carbon footprint down.
A Leo & Ugo knit dresses up as easily as it dresses down, which is most of the reason it keeps a loyal following.
