Full Figure Bras: A Goddess Fitting Guide, up to a 54 Back
Full figure bras have to carry more weight on a bigger back, and Goddess has made nothing else since 1945. Its UK sizes run from a 34 to a 54 back.
Goddess started in Boston, so you will see American sizes on the label next to the UK ones. The letters do not match, and that is the first thing to sort out.
At a glance
- Goddess bands run from a UK 34 to a 54
- Cups go up to a UK K, which Goddess call an O in American sizing
- Every style is graded for less, medium or fuller coverage
- Goddess say 80% of a bra's support comes from the underband
- Briefs run M to 4XL
- Goddess sizes, UK and US
- Three levels of coverage
- Goddess's three fit checks

Goddess sizes, UK and US
Work from your UK size, or measure with our guide to how to measure bra size. UK and American bands are the same number. The cups are where they part company.
| UK cup | Europe | USA |
|---|---|---|
| DD | E | DD |
| E | F | DDD |
| F | G | G |
| FF | H | H |
| G | I | I |
| GG | J | J |
| H | K | K |
| HH | L | L |
| J | M | M |
| JJ | N | N |
| K | O | O |
So a UK 40GG is an American 40J and a European 90J. Bands convert the usual way.
| UK and US band | Europe | France |
|---|---|---|
| 34 | 75 | 90 |
| 36 | 80 | 95 |
| 38 | 85 | 100 |
| 40 | 90 | 105 |
| 42 | 95 | 110 |
| 44 | 100 | 115 |
| 46 | 105 | 120 |
| 48 | 110 | 125 |
| 50 | 115 | 130 |
| 52 | 120 | 135 |
| 54 | 125 | 140 |
Three levels of coverage
Goddess sort every style into one of three frames, and it is a useful way to choose.
- Less coverage has a lower centre front, two or three hooks at the back and straps with a little stretch. Kayla and Keira are both here.
- Medium coverage raises the centre front for more support, with two or more hooks.
- Fuller coverage has a full height centre front, three or more hooks and straps with no stretch at all, for the most support Goddess make.
Less coverage does not mean less support. It means a lower neckline, which sits better under a V neck or a wrap top.
Goddess's three fit checks
Lean forward, settle each breast into its cup, then stand straight and check three things in the mirror.
- The band sits firm and level around your ribcage. If it rides up your back, it is too big.
- The centre front lies flat against your breastbone. If it sits on top of breast tissue, the cup is too small.
- The cups hold the whole breast in an even, rounded shape, with the wire reaching back so nothing bulges under the arm.
Goddess recommend a fitting every six months, because weight change, breastfeeding and the menopause all change your size.
Kayla and Keira
Kayla and Keira share the same build: a three-part cup with a side panel that brings the bust forward and lifts it. Both have a sheer top cup with a V neck plunge, which keeps a big bra looking lighter than it is.
Kayla is the printed one. We have it in Dark Tropical, with a matching full brief. Keira comes in plain colours, ours in Ink, and Goddess give it straps with only a little stretch for comfort across the shoulder.

Goddess briefs are sized by waist and hip rather than dress size.
| Brief | Waist (cm) | Hip (cm) |
|---|---|---|
| M | 78 | 104 |
| L | 83 | 109 |
| XL | 88 | 114 |
| 2XL | 93 | 119 |
| 3XL | 98 | 124 |
| 4XL | 103 | 129 |

Frequently asked questions
What sizes do Goddess bras come in?
Goddess bras run from a UK 34 to a 54 back and up to a UK K cup, which is an O on the American label. Each style has its own range, so not every cup comes in every band. Goddess briefs run M to 4XL, sized by waist and hip.
How do American Goddess sizes convert to UK sizes?
The band number stays the same. The cups match up to DD, then split: an American DDD is a UK E, a G is a UK F, an H is a UK FF and an I is a UK G. So an American 40J is a UK 40GG. Go by the UK size on the label.
What is the difference between Goddess Kayla and Keira?
They are built the same way, with a three-part cup, a side panel for lift and a sheer V neck top cup. Kayla comes in prints. Keira comes in plain colours and has straps with limited stretch. Both sit in Goddess's less coverage group.
Does Goddess make non-wired full figure bras?
Yes. Goddess make a non-wired Keira, which goes up to a 56 back, and Celeste, which supports up to a K cup with no wires or side boning. Ring us to ask what we have in.
