What is a waist slip for?

A waist slip, or half slip, sits under a skirt or dress from the waist down. It stops the fabric clinging or riding up, keeps light colours from showing through, and helps an unlined skirt hang properly.

What length slip do I need?

Choose a slip that finishes a couple of inches above your hem. Gaspe waist slips come in 16 and 26 inch lengths, and the full slip is 38 inches long.

Which colour slip should I choose?

Skin is the one to wear under white, pale or sheer fabrics, because it shows through less than white does. Black suits dark skirts and dresses. White works under white cotton or linen where the fabric is thick enough.

How do I wash a Gaspe slip?

The microfibre slips we carry are machine washable at 40 degrees, according to the care label. Wash them with similar colours to keep the skin and white shades clean.

Colours stay practical. Skin goes under pale or thin fabrics, black and white under everything else. The fabric is a soft microfibre with a little stretch, and it is anti-static, which is exactly what you want under a winter skirt.
