Pour Moi Size Guide: Bras, Swimwear and Size Conversions

This Pour Moi size guide covers the two ways Pour Moi sizes what we stock. Bras and some swimsuits go by band and cup in standard UK sizes, while most of the swimsuits go by dress size.

For us, Pour Moi is mainly the Sofia side support bra and a good run of swimwear, much of it with tummy control. Sofia runs from a 34D to a 42G.

Pour Moi bra size conversion chart

Pour Moi is a British brand and sizes in UK bra sizes. If you know your size in another country's system, convert the band first and then the cup.

Up to a D, the letters match everywhere. A UK 36FF is a European 80H, and a UK 34G a European 75J. If you are unsure of your UK size, our guide to how to measure bra size takes you through it.

Pour Moi also use sister sizes, which keep the same cup volume on a different band. Go up a band and down a cup, or the other way round. So if a 32F feels slightly off, try a 34E or a 30FF.

Pour Moi swimwear sizes

Swimsuits without an underwire are sized by UK dress size. Take the size you wear in a dress. Pour Moi's own chart gives these body measurements:

Underwired swimsuits, tankini tops and bikini tops are sized like a bra, by band and cup. Lisbon and St Lucia are two of ours sized that way, so take your usual bra size.

Five checks for a good fit

Pour Moi's own fitting advice starts before any of the checks: put the bra on properly. Lean forward and scoop each breast into the cup with the opposite hand, then stand up. Then check these.

• The underband lies flat and feels firm but comfortable, with a little give when you run a couple of fingers round it
• The wires sit flat against your chest, at the centre and all the way round, and never on the breast
• The cups encase the breast, with no cutting in across the middle and no bulge
• Gaping at the top of the cup means going down a cup size. Spare fabric at the bottom means re-scooping, or a smaller cup.
• The straps do not dig in, because most of the support comes from the band and the cups

Straps need adjusting as a bra ages and stretches, so check them every so often rather than setting them once.

The Pour Moi we stock

Sofia is an embroidered lace bra with side support, in black and white, from a 34D to a 42G. It has a bikini brief and a deeper brief to match, both sized 10 to 18. If you like the side support shape, our side support bras page has more.

The swimwear is mostly tummy control, from strapless Santa Monica to Palermo with its panelled front. Take your usual dress size.

Frequently asked questions

What size should I get in Pour Moi?

For bras, underwired swimsuits and bikini tops, take your usual UK bra size. Pour Moi uses standard UK sizing with doubled letters, so an FF or GG means the same as in other UK brands. For swimsuits without a wire, take your usual dress size. If you are not sure of your bra size, a free fitting in our Shaftesbury shop will settle it.

How do I convert my bra size to UK sizing?

Convert the band first, then the cup. A European 75 is a UK 34, and a French 90 is the same band. Cup letters match up to a D. After that, a European E is a UK DD, a European F a UK E, a G an F and an H an FF. US sizes use DD/E and DDD/F for the UK DD and E, then G for a UK F.

How do I know if my bra is too small?

If the cup cuts across the middle of your breast, or you can see a bulge above or at the side of the cup, it is too small. The wire sitting on breast tissue rather than flat on your chest is another sign. Try the next cup size up. If the band is fine but the cup is not, keep the same band and go up a cup.

Are Pour Moi swimsuits sized by bra size or dress size?

Both, depending on the style. Swimsuits without an underwire, including most tummy control styles such as Santa Monica and Palermo, are sized by UK dress size from 8 to 22. Underwired swimsuits, tankini tops and bikini tops, such as Lisbon and Sicily, are sized by band and cup like a bra.
